Many thanks for all who entered our draw for the limited edition Battle of Britain scarf. The draw has now been done and I can confirm that the winner is Stewart Masterton.

 

As advised in some of my previous newsletters, we are scheduled for some routine maintenance work which will commence on Monday of next week. 

On Friday, Willie and his team dusted the cobwebs from the machines and gave the putting green a taste of what's due to take place. With our Procore in full action (first photo below), the first job is to punch holes at around 15mm where we then follow up with the Blek machine which drops seeds in to the surfaces (second photo below).

Once completed, a very light covering of top dressing and drag matted fills the cores allowing the surfaces to breath and repair whilst we still have some warmth and growth. This is a very simple and brief explanation of what we do and recovery on these works is very weather dependant and should be around 10 to 14 days.

 

Our Junior Team played in The Home Nations Championship 2015 at Scotscraig last weekend in the quarter-final. The boys finished equal first, although officially second after a countback. The top two teams (Turnhouse and Lundin) however qualified for the Scottish semi-finals, where Lundin will play at Pumpherston on Oct 10th. Our team consisted of Sam Nicholson, Stewart Philp, Steven Paterson Jr, Jay Cunningham, Dean Robertson and Connor Dewar. Well done, boys and good luck!
