Firstly, I'd like to thank everyone who took the time to play in my golf day on Saturday, I do hope you all enjoyed the changes to the course! On what was a warm but windy day, the scoring was indifferent to say the least with less than 50% of orange balls returned. We had orange balls lost with the opening tee shots (Danny Stalker and Steven Paterson Jnr) to one complete team not even calling me to cancel (Andy Sim, Mike Thomson and Craig Maiden).
Overall I believe the day to have been a complete success. Prizes are available to be picked up in the pro shop and a list of the winners are below. Once again many thanks and I look forward to some more challenging pins and tees for 2016!!
Orange Ball - First place went to Dave Mason, A J McDonald and Brian Hay, ahead of Stewart Clunie, Vic Taylor and Dave Halley in second. Sean Brown, Gordy Palmer and Andy McKeown finished in third.
Betterball - David Thomson, James Thomson and Charlie Slave won the betterball event. Steve Meiklejohn, Dave Imrie and Joe Smith finished second with Martin Young, Derek Matthew and Michael Cooper in third.
Nearest the Pin - 5th - Steven Paterson Jnr; 12th - Nick Parker 14th - Colin Johnston; 18th in two - Keith Stuart
Just a gentle reminder to all junior members of our next
evening class is due to take place on Thursday, 3 September. All juniors requiring any further information please contact us directly in the shop or contact Junior Convenor Raymond Philp.
Fraser has now returned from his week on tour and while the wand on the greens never worked on day one, they narrowly missed out on qualifying by two shots. I'm sure the next time you're in he'll update you on his travels.
As much as the above autumn/winter pains me to type, just a small note to advise that we will be receiving some
autumn/winter ranges along with the compulsory woolly tammies! Details will follow in the coming weeks.
