Since our return back in May 2020 bunkers have been an extremely hot topic of conversation.

With the direction given that no rakes should be made available, many golfers believed the best option would be to have preferred lies in the hazard, however, the council here at the golf club decided to go with the option of 'play as it lies' with 9 times out of 10 I'm sure being fine, but there is the odd occasion when some golfers are not overly courteous to the players behind!!

As we have been members only for some weeks now it pains me to advise that on Saturday whilst looking at the first tee to ensure the golfers were pegging off on time I watched 2 members approach hole 18.

After a wayward second shot to the left greenside bunker, I watched the golfer proceed to his ball, where he played his shot, once played (an excellent shot for reference) he left the hazard, headed to his bag and then moved to the green without any effort to repair his damage!!

Now I fully appreciate people on occasions forget but please assist the green staff who are now down to three and your fellow players, it only takes seconds to do!!!!!!

25 years ago when there were no rakes we never had issues, why do we have then now?
