Looking back from hole three

Saturday afternoon saw me head to our neighbours at Dumbarnie Golf Links, my first visit didn't disappoint and I personally believe one to keep an eye on as it matures!

The views were simply stunning, I think I may possibly be about the last person in Fife to have played! I paid my £94 like the majority, definitely one everyone should have a round at before the rates increase!

Face masks

After some of the situations over recent weeks concerning face masks I eventually caved to the pressure and now have some club crested ones available in the pro shop, priced at £6.50 we have black and light blue, they've been received extremely well and now that we have them available there are simply are no excuses!

Competition news

On the course...

Saturday saw the Captain's Prizes with again a tremendous entry seeing tee times run until 3:00pm, coming out triumphant this week was Jim Gay 72-5=67, closely followed by Stephen Allison on 68 with a host of players on 70. Twos returned a healthy £18 with Andrew Russell recording two in his round at 5 and 14.

No stats I'm afraid this week as I left before the Medal was complete on Saturday as advised above, I can unfortunately confirm we had more NO SHOWS and ample cancellations, no excuses as the weather was perfect!

Only a few more counting medals now still to play for before we introduce Armageddon A.K.A. WHS at the beginning of November.

The last counting fixture will be "The Pro's Sweep" which will be a normal strokeplay medal with a few extra prizes supplied by us as a way of thanking you all for your support over the last four and bit challenging months, let's make this a biggy!

Off for a few days!

As I write this weeks newsletter I'm actually off for a few days, fingers crossed the weather will play ball, day one rained, let's hope the next few are a little kinder allowing me to have a bash with the wee man, the intention was to head north with the sticks and sample some of the delights, however with the hospitality industry hit badly and me not keen to be bedded by 6:00pm with no alcohol we decided to just plot about the doors... The joys of Covid-19!

Hatton's happy homecoming

Tyrrell Hatton sealed a fantastic victory at Wentworth in the BMW PGA Championship over the weekend.

The Englishman played some outstanding golf from tee-to-green, setting up birdie chances aplenty thanks to a near-perfect ball-striking display. Finding the right part of the green was key to Hatton's success over the weekend, which saw him enter the World's Top 10 for the very first time.

One of the slightly more unusual talking points from the weekend was Hatton's clothing; more specifically his hoodies. It seems to have people split and, whilst it won't be to everyone's taste, we'd love to hear your thoughts - send us a message below.
