For those of you that read your emails you will have noticed that the captain has relaxed the guidelines slightly in that you are now able to play more than twice per week, to ensure everyone gets a fair chance to play we ask that should you require to play a third, fourth or even a fifth game to give me a call in the shop where I'd be delighted to assist. Now almost a week in to our return there are a few things I must ask you or possibly remind you of, so we continue to move forward! As we have no bins on the course we ask that every golfer ensures they take home any rubbish, please once you've pegged off look for your broken tees, we have had a considerable amount of broken pegs left on the teeing areas and whilst we appreciate that sometimes the tee goes further than the ball there is no excuse!! With a considerable amount of play comes a considerable amount of pitch marks and again whilst we appreciate the ground is firm it will only be a matter of time before you all start complaining!! Bunkers can prove a challenge for many, there is currently no competitive golf so if you are out on the course have a chat with your partner and agree to have a preferred lie or even remove it from the hazard but please please try your best to smooth the surface! Lastly as we are all aware contact is what we are trying to avoid as per the government's guidelines and the use of the 2m social distancing rule, so can I please ask you all not to shake hands, knock elbows or have the manly fist pump! There have been situations in our first week where I have witnessed this and I'm afraid this is completely against the request of not only the U.K Government but the club here at Lundie. We cant blame the above on visitors, we don't allow them at present! |
