| Another week and another one bites the dust!!! No rise in fuel however we've managed to lose another!! More than likely being towed to Turkey to be broken for scrap like a previous one, but our view is returning so who cares!! |

What a week we've had! The suspense is killing us!! By the time you read this we will hopefully have been given the green light, the hard work behind the scenes has been done, the tee sheet is looking full and with the weather scheduled to hold at last, we all have something to look forward to! All members whose email address is registered with the club should have been receiving updates over the last few months with the most recent email on Friday of last week outlining the procedures for our "return to golf", I appreciate not all our members are shall we say PC, so could I please ask anyone who knows a member who may not have an email address or access to social media to let them know on what will be the new "golf as we know it" certainly until we are given a further green light. |
On Tuesday I nipped out with the Captain and my wee man to make a stab at putting a little "idiots guide to golf" video for everyone to watch! Getting ready Providing we get the news we are all hoping for we have introduced a few measures of social distancing within the Pro Shop, there are hand sanitising stations as you enter and leave the shop and whilst I'll be there to check you all in I'm not officially trading as such!! However feel free to impulse buy, it's been a tough few months!! We are fortunate to have a large shop and whilst we have signs permitting 2 players at any one time, we do have space for another as we have ample room!

The booking system as most of you are aware is now back up and running on its 7-day window, the tee times have been extended allowing bookings from 8am - 6pm, whilst in 2 balls to ensure we adhere to the government guidelines please bear with me over the first few days as the tee is full and I will be relying on you all not only to be patient but to use common sense! I have under instruction been asked to register all golfers, so whilst the booking will be in a lead name I will require the name of the second member playing to register all golfers with our tacking system. Park your car, get ready, head to the putting green, check-in, play golf and when finished exit via the road to the car park, for the foreseeable future there will be NO clubhouse facilities so come prepared! All toilets will be locked and there will be no bins or bunker rakes so please can I ask everyone to be as courteous as possible? |
Could this really happen? Over the past couple of weeks, we've been lucky enough to watch Tiger, Rory and a select few others take to the course to raise money for charities. But, it's got us thinking... With the PGA Tour set to return next month and the European Tour the month after - both without fans for a while - will September's Ryder Cup match between Europe and USA go ahead? If it does, it'll likely be without spectators but would that be the same spectacle? Think back to Paris in 2018 when the cameras panned around the first tee at the start of each match to thousands of fans in the grandstand. It was a sight to behold.
