Burns Supper 2019

The annual Burn Supper will be held on Friday 31st January, 6.30 for 7.00 start prompt.

Tickets can be purchased from Alistair and Mandy in the office at a cost of £27.50, both members and visitors welcome.

Even if you are not a Burns fanatic this is an excellent social evening of Dining and Entertainment, which I’m sure you will really enjoy.

Eclectic

The weekend saw a change from the horrendous wind and rain of the previous week to a hard frost forcing the greenkeepers to put us on the temporary greens for the day cancelling the Eclectic.

As frustrating as the winter greens are, we still had a pretty good field playing, fingers crossed we get some better weather this weekend and back on track.

Layer up

Last week we talked about one of our favourite topics: rain! Whilst waterproof protection is key for staying dry when caught in a downpour, combining layers of clothing underneath is vital if you want to enjoy the warmth without being so restricted that you can’t complete your backswing.

What do we mean by layering?

Lots of golfers are still in the habit of putting on as many layers as they possibly can in the winter to combat the cold – a vest, turtleneck, polo, sweater and jacket – but today’s golf clothing could easily cut that down by half.

What do we suggest?
