Competition news

Scoring as superb as the weather...

Saturday saw some terrific weather for our first major of the year!

Leading the pack in our Spring meeting was Derek Murdoch with a superb scratch 71 (5) 66 keeping Ian Kerr one shot further back on 67 after a great 69 and one further place from Ian was Grant McNab with a very steady scratch 68! The 2’s returned a very respectable £13.76!

A special mention must go to Duncan Milne who unfortunately slipped whilst hitting his second shot to 16, generating a little back log due to a dislocated knee.

However, with the paramedics on seen fairly sharpish all got back to normal very quickly. It was like a seen from the 1920’s!

This week has seen again a selection of new product arrive with more due over the coming days. The shop has definitely taken shape over recent weeks and we’d love to welcome you down for a browse.

We continue to give a 24 hour turn around on re-gripping and when you see what we are being asked to repair you can see why having new grips can make such a difference!

How’s your wedge play? Are you struggling with spin? If the answer to these questions are 'poor' and 'yes' then come and have a chat with Stewart or myself and look at the new Callaway wedges!

This little bad boy (pictured) was left on the course and although now re-united with its owner, the question I ask myself is: could this particular wedge be illegal?

How lucky are we?

The course continues to improve and with recent temperatures rising not only is the course looking superb but the views are improving to!

Now we have entered the lighter nights and warmer weather be sure to double check the booking system if you are popping down for a quick evening nine!

Starting next week there are a few occasions when the first tee will be closed from 5pm until 6.30pm for Summer League matches; the majority of these are Mondays, however, on the odd occasion we will have them on other days too.

The Claret Jug medals are not too far away as well, so please just to save you a journey best double check if in doubt!

From green to tee
