Welcome to this week's newsletter bringing you all the latest goings-on from the club, including a look ahead to this weekend's East of Scotland, a look back at last week's competitions and a report on how Steve and I got on in the Lombard Trophy regional qualifier.
Enjoy this week's read. |
Eldon takes advantage of conditions...
Saturday saw Eldon Zuill rein in what I believe is his first victory here at Lundie, holding off Gary Mitchell on countback (67) with a host of players on sub 71 to win the Cox Trophy. The warm and benign weather saw some great scoring, however we still had a few no shows and multiple cancelations!
Two’s were also flowing and all players lucky enough to have one managed a return of £13.46.

We couldn't quite dovetail...
Last Wednesday saw Steve Grist and I headed to Blairgowrie where we competed in The Lombard Trophy regional qualifier over The Rosemount Course.
With heavy rain over night the course was damp in areas but with a dry start we played steady but just failed to dovetail as often as we would have liked! Nontheless, it was a great day out and, finishing on minus four, we finished in the top half eventually ending up in 13th place! Unlucky for us! Remember we also have a reciprocal arrangement with Blairgowrie and at this time of year it’s simply stunning and well worth a visit!

East of Scotland
This weekend see’s the annual East of Scotland Open Amateur event. As always everyone is welcome and with scratch being balloted out we expect some good golf! The course will be closed to competitors only Saturday and Sunday and should you see strangers on Friday evening out on the links, please don’t worry, we anticipate various players arriving late Friday for practice rounds.

Which bracket do you fall in? |
There’s one thing that you'll always need in abundance when playing golf and that’s balls - and plenty of them. Each golf ball we sell offers different levels of feel and performance at varying price points, meaning we have something to offer all playing preferences and budgets. |
| Bang for your buck Balls at a cheaper price point usually have one key performance benefit rather than offering a little of everything. This Callaway Warbird follows the trend by offering maximum distance with your longer clubs thanks to its aerodynamic dimples and high-energy core, giving you lots of power for little expenditure. |
| The all-rounder If you’re looking for more balanced performance through the bag but without the premium price tag, this Callaway Supersoft ball is designed to be long, straight and soft. It doesn’t spin as much as the Chrome Soft, but its low compression core helps create long, high flights that land softly. |
| Tour performance The saying 'you get what you pay for' certainly applies when it comes to golf balls. Callaway's Chrome Soft is their premium option, and it's easy to see why, with a soft urethane cover for short-game spin and a graphene-infused core that boosts ball speed and provides more iron control. |
