Welcome back to the weekly newsletter. This week we have an update on week one's eclectic, we recap the presentation dinner, more 150th anniversary merchandise hits the store, pitch marks rear their ugly heads, and Stewart has another Coffee Class coming up. Enjoy the read!

Goodbye 2017

Where has the year gone? We’re already in the second week of November, we’ve crowned our champions for the year, all our counting competitions are over and The Eclectic as of last Saturday is now in full swing!

A great turnout on week one with 76 golfers, after what I’m sure was a boozy night at our presentation dinner, and I can happily report that with a superb score of 41 points we had joint first place positioning with Vic Taylor and David Sandison, they were closely followed one shot further back on 40 points by Neil Harper with a host of players on 38 and 39.

Weather permitting, this event will take place every Saturday over the winter period and we’ll keep you updated on the movers and shakers and any alterations over the festive period.

Presentation Dinner

Friday evening saw our annual dinner take place here in the clubhouse, with a full house and the drink flowing - I do believe everyone had a most excellent night!

This was Gary and Elaine’s first large function since they joined us earlier in the year and I’m sure you all agree the food was absolutely superb.

Some first time winners in Stewart Masterton and Alex Watt (pictured) and with many of our award winners present on the night I do believe as normal the evening to have been a great success as expected!

150th Merchandise

This week has seen the arrival of some of our limited edition 150th clothing, we will be carrying a small range over the coming months to ensure we are able to offer something a little different and acknowledge our great anniversary, stunning lambs wool and merino sweaters and some fantastic shirts now in store and I hope to have some lined sweaters to match at some point next week.

Pitch Marks

It’s that time of year again where the complaints on pitch marks have started! Sunday was exceptional and with the majority of the bookings being members and members guests I’m afraid it would seem our pitch mark problems would seem to be closer to home than thought!

Can we plead with everyone to ensure they repair their pitch marks as we have now entered the winter period the surfaces are a little softer and to ensure nothing drastic has to be done we ask all golfers to take an extra few seconds when on the green to ensure the repairs are done.

Coffee Class

Stewart's Coffee Classes started last week and will again be running over the coming weeks, every Thursday at 10am on the range so if you’re in need of some help, fancy an hour on the practice range, followed by a lovely cup of coffee and a biscuit in the clubhouse then come on down!
