Welcome to this week's newsletter. We've got an update on course works on the 12th and updates to the range, as well as some competition news. Enjoy the read!

The 12th is looking a little different

Willies' winter programme is now in full swing, this week sees the team commence work on the bunkers at hole 12, yes you're right we are reshaping them slightly and yes pulling them a little more towards the green however there are reasons - The hole is way too easy!


Only joking! You’ll see from the photos below that the roots from the trees surrounding the green are quite considerable and with this in mind the team have no other option other than to alter to suit, I’m sure once finished, as like all Willies work, it will look fantastic so please bear with the guys as there may be machinery around the green during the works.

Fortnightly top dressing as per usual is scheduled throughout the winter period and again as advised it can be weather dependant.

Eclectic this Saturday

It’s that time of year again - Winter! The Eclectic commences this coming Saturday and, as a reminder, the tee sheet does fill up quickly so be sharp to ensure you get the times you’re looking for.

The online booking system opens at 7.30am and we will also be taking bookings from the same time by calling the shop, a slight mishap on my part last weekend as I forgot to mention to Stewart no bookings by ourselves pre 7.30, so for those of you out there that believe there’s a conspiracy on Saturday tee times for selected people, I can assure that’s not the case! My mistake and the first time Stewart has had to book a Saturday time!

We’re here to help, however, we do have a large membership and not everyone has access to a PC or the online system so please be sensible!

Fairway Mats

Members wishing to use fairway mats over the coming months before they become compulsory can do so from this coming Monday, we will have a stock of mats available however please note that when playing in the eclectic mats are NOT permitted until Saturday 6th January.

Four Club Challenge

Saturday saw the Four Club Challenge take place and with poorer numbers than expected there’s no taking away the incredible score from Stephen Rogerson who smashed in a superb scratch 69 to win by one from Stuart Fowler, with a host of players a couple of shots further back.

Two’s were also a rarity, with only two coming from Mark Arthur and Paul Stewart, lifting a superb £53 each for twos at holes five and seven respectively.
