We are going to be running Junior Coaching classes through the Summer break.
Should anyone have any relatives or know of anyone wishing to improve their skills over the holidays please get in touch here. Final details of these will be in next week's newsletter along with costs and times. We hope to run these classes twice per week over a four week window commencing Thursday 10th July. Numbers will be limited to a first come first served basis so give us a ring if you can't wait until next week!
Sunday saw the 36 hole Matchplay Final take place of our Club Championship for 2014.
With some great ties played over the early rounds, our two finalists were Cameron Mitchell (2010's champion) and Joseph Smith one of our new members this year.
With some great golf and many birdies Mitchell finished round one five up with an exciting afternoon's golf ahead. Holing two good putts at holes one and two in the afternoons round saw a steady start for Mitchell followed by good birdies at seven, eight and nine.
Smith also birdied nine and with hole ten halved in pars a wayward tee shot at hole eleven for Smith opened the door for Mitchell to close the match with a nine and seven victory.

In our Feathery eighteen hole final finalists
Mike Marshal and
Jamie Spittal contested a great match with Marshal coming out on top with a three and two victory, pictured on hole one with Vice Captain Neil Ballingal.
The Seniors Championship also took place on Sunday afternoon with past captain Bruce Reid and Gordon Palmer fighting for the title! With a tight game through nine holes Palmer eased to victory to take the coveted 2014 title (pictured above).
Jeff Swan and myself represented the club at The Lombard Trophy held at Ladybank Golf Club last week. Some mixed weather and a well presented golf course saw us have very much a game of two halves! Plus one through nine was not ideal but with a charge on the back half we managed to finish at minus three, only four shots shy and a top ten finish! Definitely worth a visit and with our great reciprocal rate of £15 per golfer one I'd advise all to take up if you have the opportunity and time.
Pro On Tour - Friday saw me head to East Renfrewshire Golf Club for their annual Pro Am - a fantastic day organised by friend and Head Professional Stewart Russell. A solid team performance saw us finish on 70 to be beaten on the inward nine for fourth place with the top four all also finishing on the same score. Shooting a 72 myself saw me finish in fourth spot, three shots behind the winning professional. Again a course well-presented having had some heavy rain over the last couple of weeks and a great event that managed to raise just over twenty thousand pounds on the day for The Beatson Cancer Charity and Darlinda's. Another great reciprocal if your ever through in the west at £15 per golfer.
BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS!! Amy managed to supply us with a very healthy breakfast on Sunday morning, you know you cracked it with your staff when this is what they bring into work for you. Little wonder the waist is expanding!!
Over the past few weeks we've had a few interesting outfits and none more in touch with their feminine side than this week's winner. Congratulations again to Bruce Reid for these little bad boys!! Caught on the putting green before Sunday's big match I actually had a double take reminding me of a photo I took back in 2010 of Doug Saunders when he popped into the shop for a chat during The Junior Open Championship.
