With the Christmas period now well and truly over and week one of work complete, everything is now focusing towards the start of the season and we still have some great offers on product at unbelievable prices!
These are discounts not to be missed so why not drop by. With 35% OFF footwear it's an ideal saving for that new pair of boots for the season opener only two months away, not to mention that we have selected clothing with up to 50% OFF!
The course continues to maintain its looks and playability, however, with the recent numbers on the course over the festive period (mostly members) pitch marks have risen their ugly head once more! There simply is no excuse for the lack of repair and respect for the surfaces, watching golfers daily from the shop window it is quite evident that there are a large number not repairing the holes their balls make! I can appreciate that on occasions it can be difficult to see the pitch marks, however with the volume of damage at certain holes, especially hole seven, even the repair of someone else's will help!
I often wonder myself that, with golf trollies being more popular year on year and directions given to wheel them around the greens, the front approach of the green is an area missed unless you're carrying, so please please help Willie and his team ensure we have the surfaces we are so famous for by double checking for any pitch marks out there!
A pitch mark repaired within two hours will repair within a few days, a pitch mark not repaired will take months! We are all responsible as custodians to our links!
On behalf of Fraser I'd like to say a huge thanks for all those who have taken the time to pop in and congratulate him on his new position, he will be sadly missed here in the Pro Shop, as was his predecessor, and I will endeavour to try and find a good replacement!
Anyone still needing to use coaching vouchers they received for tuition please try where possible to grab Fraser before he leaves, still another six weeks, so plenty of time!
Tee times are still popular items on a weekend so please be sensible where possible, here in the shop we are only trying to help golfers, not hinder, so please bear with us during these busy periods with limited light!
I'd also like to draw your attention to some groups of recent, walking directly to the first tee without checking in! A simple knock on the window would suffice, however there have been groups of recent not advising us of their arrival. Anyone not checking in, or that we might miss if we are on the phone dealing with a booking or a customer in the shop, will be marked as a no show and we do on occasions do a print out to find the worst culprits! You've been warned!
The mornings on clear days are becoming lighter and the days are starting to extend but again I ask you to bear with us when removing the course closed sign, it's only there to ensure the course is fully operational for play allowing our green staff time to check, we have a web service to update and that extra five minutes helps endlessly, please be patient, however not long until you can refasten those head torches!
