Our Junior team took part in The Fife Junior Team Championship at Scoonie last Sunday and for our first attempt in being represented in the event for many years did a sterling job.
With our team comprising of Euan Davidson, Stewart Philp, Danny Stalker and Jay Cunningham we finished a very respectable fourth place, only four shots off of finishing in second place. A special mention to Stewart who shot third best scratch score of the day. You can the results from the day by clicking here. I'd like to extend my personal thanks and congratulations to the boys for doing us proud.
This week saw the arrival of some new club crested product from Glenmuir (pictured below). Shirts, both short and long sleeved, alongside some very nice interlock sweats and very fashionable gillets. Sizing from medium through to XXL available in store and please note that should there be something in the range we do not have in stock we would endeavour to require special ordered items where possible.
Past captain Bruce Reid popped in over the weekend to show his new outfit that he's been desperate to wear since giving up his captaincy in March!! We feel on this occasion that getting dressed in the dark wasn't his best decision!! Ten out of ten for effort though!
As mentioned in last week's newsletter, our Green's Programme is now in full swing and with the Club Championship only a matter of weeks away the turf iron is going to be a regular occurrence.
Speaking to Mike, one of our green staff during the week and a member of the team for some years now, he is of the opinion the greens at this current time are as good as he's seen them in his team with us here at Lundie!
As I always say the men that look after our hallowed turf know better than us golfers that dig it up.
Claret Jug Medals are due to commence this Thursday and as a note to all who have not read their diaries, these competitions are now non-courtesy Medals which means you, the golfer, find your playing partner/s and book your own tee time!! The only stipulation for these is that the pro-shop must be open for check in. Shop hours on Thursday will be 8am until 6-6.30pm.
With the FootJoy glove promotion in Saturday's Cox Trophy Ian Seath and Greg Wishart were both successful in beating their handicap after buying into the glove promo and have gloves set aside in the pro shop for collection on their next game.
Saturday's Cox Trophy was won by Ian Ladd with a nett 65 plying from a handicap of 19, two shots ahead of Paul Coleman, Matthew Miller and Danny Stalker all on 67.
