We have had such a fantastic and positive response to the new newsletter and website which we launched last week. We are pleased that so many of you have either spoken to me and the team in the shop or sent me an email. That really is the aim of this weekly communication, to inform and to encourage more golfers to talk to us about their game and how they would like to improve. Have you set your aims for the year? For those of you that might have missed our email last week, We'd like to tell you a little more about my new email and website. We have spent a lot of time putting together this website. You will find videos on the latest golf equipment, instructional tips and videos, contact forms to keep in touch and information on the promotions that we have running in my shop. But we also want to feature you! So if you have any news be it a hole in one, birth of a son or granddaughter, a testimonial on how great your new driver or electric trolley is we want to know and we will be delighted to feature you in our site.

Willie's Greens Programme is really kicking in now and with the warmer weather and a little dampness our greens are looking fantastic. Verti cut, cut and rolled at the end of the week has added some pace to the surfaces and sets us up for looks to be a great season on the links. Willie and his team do an absolutely sterling job and we are all very lucky to have such a great man on the job!

Monday 5th May saw our Summer League team commence this season's matches against Dunfermline Golf Club and I'm happy to report they've kicked off with a win. As current 2012/2013 Fife Champions it gives us a great start to the year.

Our Seniors Team ventured to Downfield on Friday past but unfortunately the heavy rain and hail took toll on their performance while we basked in the sun here at Lundie. We really are spoiled here both with weather and our course!!

Saturday saw The Gilchrist Trophy take place with Match Convener Stuart Clunie and partner Vic Taylor winning the event. The pairing did try to throw it away at 18 by playing the wrong ball thanks to Brian and Stuart Main, but with a few shots cushion they managed victory by two. Pairing McDonald and Palmers highlight was a stunning 10 at hole 5 and yes you've read right - it is a 10 not a misprint!! On the upside they only played 5 shots each!! The top five were as follows:

2nd - James Davies & Rab Lindsay
3rd - Stephen Rogerson & Steve Allison
4th - Murdo Macleod & Richard Brown
5th - Alistair Thomson & David Thomson

Our Member's Junior Coaching will commence on Sunday 18th May at 1pm.

This coaching is only available for any members who have children under the age of 12, spaces will be limited and the sign up sheet is listed on the members notice board. There will be two 30 minute sessions and there will be no charge for the coaching. Can I ask any children that do not have clubs to advise the pro shop in advance. Our hope is that these will run a minimum of once per month and I ask everyone to keep their eyes peeled for more information.

As a reminder to all you Callaway lovers out there who are thinking about changing their irons, maybe a driver or even a wedge - we have exclusive use of the Callaway Fitting Centre in St Andrews and as a staff player myself I'd recommend anyone thinking of a change to call into the shop where we'd be happy to reserve you an appointment and discuss further the options available. It's an impressive set up with every Callaway club available and every conceivable piece of golf monitor technology on the market.
