My annual Pro's Day entry sheet is now up, feel free to get your names down for what can only be described as a fun day in teams of three. It will be a very relaxed yet sadistic format, with plenty of great prizes on offer. If you can't manage to get down to the club, please give us a bell and we'd be happy to pop your name down, Saturday, 20 August - a day not to be missed.
We continue to have offers in the shop and have a few remaining deals on balls. We also have a little Callaway Apparel special this week with 20% OFF, plus plenty of little accessories for the small golfing gift. As always, we're here daily and we'd be happy to help where we can.
I advised in last week's newsletter that I'd pass on an update on Fraser's performance at The Nottinghamshire in the Foremost Assistants Championship. I'm happy to advise that despite not coming home with a trophy, Fraser finished a very respectable 29th in a field of 105. The only Scot in the field, a great effort going that distance and a pretty good day at the office too.
Sunday saw our junior team head to Downfield Golf Club and on a super day where the team were made most welcome. Team Lundie came out on top with a 3-1 victory, congratulations to all involved and thanks to the chauffeurs. Wednesday sees our annual Junior Open, fingers crossed I'll have some good news for you next week in a field where we have good representation and knowledge!
Last week saw our Seniors Summer Meeting take place and with 39 points, Gordon Palmer managed to hold off Jim Bruce and Tommy Brown after countback. Wee Gordy - as he's known to many - wins The Rosebowl with Jim Bruce taking victory in The Salver.
Saturday's Henderson Medal saw junior Stewart Philp cruise to victory with an excellent 70 (5) to win by one and see yet another reduction in his handicap. A great day for scoring with only a light breeze saw many reductions and only 17 NRs.
