Open Week
Well what a week we've had!
A new Open Champion, weather warnings, a busy golf course and now only six years until next time. In what has been a challenging, yet most enjoyable, week, we see American Zach Johnson crowned Open Champion 2015. It was a great tournament generating lots of excitement as it neared its finish on Monday evening. With the buzz it created around our course, The Open is more than welcome to come again!
With now a six year window until the next time to tie in with the 150th event, we are all now in a better place to plan ahead. We hope that there hasn't been too much disruption for you and just to give you a little insight to what the tournament brings to us all here at Lundie - here's a little stat for you:
Mon 14 Jul to Sun 20 Jul 2014 we had 468 rounds of golf
Mon 13 Jul to Sun 19 Jul 2015 we had 1080 rounds played
A good effort I'd say!! We've had visits from Gary Player, Will Ferrell, Soren Kjeldsen and Paul Jewells - all who were extremely complimentary about our course and how good it was, we should all be very proud. This number includes members, members' guests and visitors so you can see how important it is for us here to alter the systems we operate for a mere twelve days! Early starts of 6.00am and late finishes has made it a challenging period and Fraser and I appreciate your support and understanding over this time.
Back to normal this coming Saturday so short and sweet this week. Let's all get out on the links and emulate the superstars that dawned our doorstep last week!
