Dress to impress - It must be getting close to that time of year again!! One word springs to mind for Past-Captain Reid!! MIRROR!!!!
Saturday saw the playing of the club's annual Memorial Trophy. The format for this event was a four man texas scramble and with a great entry the winning team comprising of Doug Pirie, Andy Sim, Craig Maiden and Kevin Blyth came out on top with a fantastic score of 56.4. They were closely followed by Curly, Curly, Keith and Halley on 57.3.
Only a few days to go now until our season opener, Captain vs Vice on Saturday from 12.30pm. Entries have now closed and the draw sheet with all competitors hole allocations is now noted on the members board. Please note that all golfers must be at their designated tee no later than 12.20pm to ensure any golfers doubled up are able to commence prior to the 12.30pm shotgun horn.
Can I also remind everyone whilst we don't encourage play prior to Saturday's shotgun so as to allow Willie and his team to prepare the course for the competition, members are fully entitled to play providing that all golfers still utilize their mats and vacate the course by 12.15pm to ensure the course is ready for the first official tee shot from the Captain at 12.30pm for season 2015/16.
I hope everyone has a most enjoyable season! Good luck!!
As many of you know, member Peter Whiteford narrowly missed out on retaining his tour card last season on the European Tour. Due to this, for the 2015/16 season Pete will play Challenge Tour golf which is due to commence tomorrow in Madeira. You can follow his progress here and I'm sure, like ourselves here in the pro shop, you'd like to wish Pete well in his quest after all his winter practice that's been done over recent months here at Lundie.
