The Ryder Cup
What a week in golf! The Europeans won the Ryder Cup yet again! Some great golf, a course in fantastic condition with the European players yet again setting their stall a leaders in the game of golf.
I had the pleasure of attending on Friday and Saturday and what an advert for Scotland and golf. I hope everyone enjoyed the spectacle and to those who managed to get tickets the electric atmosphere, what an event. My photos from the event can be seen above and below, a 3.30am start on Saturday morning saw success for the stand at hole one and boy was it worth it!!!
Callaway Cup
As I mentioned in last week's newsletter I was away at the beginning of the week to The Oxfordshire to represent Team North in The Callaway Cup.
On a very tough and long 7,400 yard course, Team North almost did it!! After the foursomes and fourballs we were down quite considerably but with great determination Team North went out fighting! Losing by half a point overall it came down to the last singles match which was won unfortunately by the southerners on hole 17! The north who are yet to win this event, did ourselves proud but alas it wasn't meant to be. My own golf fared well, losing out as a pairing on both occasions on Wednesday but I came back determined on Thursday for a comfortable victory in the singles helping the team ever so slightly closer! I'm one of the bald ones wearing red!!!!!!
If you're ever down that way it's definitely worth a visit, my only advice would be to choose the forward tees!
