Morrison Trophy 

Saturday was a blustery day but scoring was still good! Round one was completed and leading the way in first place (on a better inward half) with 76 (9) is Brian Grieve from Russell Weir with the top sixteen qualifying for the match play. With forty players all within ten shots, it is all to play for this coming weekend! 

Lombard Trophy 

Each year we hold an annual qualifier for The Lombard Trophy. The Lombard is an event giving you, the amateur member, the opportunity of partnering yours truly in a pro/member qualifier. We then try and qualify for the all-expenses paid finals held in Portugal in September! There is an additional small entry fee which is sent to Lombard to cover admin for the entry that you'll be asked for on the day. 

Our club qualifier this year will be The Spring Meeting for the qualifier at Craigielaw Golf Club in July with full details available on the day.


 

Golf Clinics

With the warmer weather almost here and the season in full swing, the first of our golf clinics will take place on Tuesday the 2nd of May at 1pm. This clinic will be a seniors session with others available as the season progresses. The numbers will be limited to the first eight names submitted to the pro shop at your earliest convenience please. 

The cost for the hours coaching will be £5 per golfer and this particular session will take place on the range. Once we gauge interest Stewart will be offering a clinic membership where you buy into four sessions and utilise them to suit your diary. Progress Continues To Be Made

Stewart has settled in well and is up to speed on the majority of the elements he needs to deal with. I'm sure like myself when I started all those years ago there will be a couple of areas we've missed, however I'm happy to report all is good. 

The warmer weather has been a little vacant over the last week, however all looks positive for the coming weeks ahead, heat wave pending!  

There has been a noticeable increase over the last few weeks on the number of golfers playing and as we're now well into the season, the medals are in full swing and preferred lies due off soon, it's a great opportunity to check your grips to ensure they are still round and tacky for the season ahead. 

With a huge selection instore we will have the right grip for you but if you're unsure please pop in and have a chat with Stewart or myself to discuss your requirements. Our turnaround time is quick and most importantly it eliminates another excuse for that not-so-good-shot!
