As you will have seen in an earlier email this week we have some Black Friday Specials available at the end of the week, these deals will be on a first come first served basis as some have limited numbers, however should some of the great offers we have will still be available at the weekend we will gladly honour the deal prices!


 

Christmas Sale 

Saturday sees the start of our annual Christmas Sale! With great bargains on clothing as well as footwear, bags and accessories please feel free to swing by for a browse. 

Also running within our Christmas promotions will be a FREE prize draw for all customers spending over £75! All customers spending £75 or more will be entered into our free prize draw for a Skycaddie Aire 2 GPS device worth £129! 

The offer will run for purchases made up to and including 23rd December! Christmas vouchers for the shop and tuition are also available and can be tailored to suit!


 

Booking System 

It has been brought to our attention that there has been tee times booked prior to 7.30am over recent winters which some members have voiced their concerns, these bookings have been possible when the shop has been open sharper and a phone call received to make the said bookings, to ensure that everyone receives a fair kick at the ball so to speak, we would like to advise all members who have been fortunate enough over the years to have had this booking dealt with that, as of Saturday 26th November, we will no longer be taking any bookings by telephone before this time. 

Feel free to call for a course update however this service is also available online by checking the club website and clicking on 'club status' at the top'.  It is our responsibility to update this daily and we do try our best!


 

Ready Golf 

Most, when reading the above, will be thinking "ready golf" what's that? 

As the hours of daylight are no longer on our side and the numbers of golfers playing each weekend increases, especially on a Saturday, I thought it may be an ideal opportunity to give "Ready Golf" a little go!

Rather than waiting your turn to hit your shot as we do each time we play use the simple process of whoever is ready first, PLAY!!! The same is applicable from the tee and, having spoken to various other local professionals over recent weeks, it would seem to be reducing the time on the course by up to twenty minutes!

This is by no means compulsory but something I'd love to try! I await the backlash! Fraser and myself would be happy to describe in detail should the above not make sense, so please feel free to ask!


 

With the recent temperatures hitting, shall we say, a cooler window and on occasions generating ground frost, we have from today placed a tub of fairway mats at the first tee should anyone wish to use them purely on a voluntary basis! 

The fairways can, at this time of year, get a battering and offering mats to golfers who wish to utilize them before they become compulsory on January 2nd will help the healing process! 

Due to some feedback from golfers a decision has been made not to place mats on tees at holes 5, 7, 12 and 14, when playing these holes you will see a tub of small mats as used on our fairways and we ask that all shots from these tees listed are played in this way. 

The world we now live in has and is becoming more "health and safety" conscious day by day so please please be careful out there on the links on these cold and frosty winter mornings! I appreciate all golfers want to play in the dark every morning but lets be sensible out there! 

Not only are you a hazard to yourself but a potential threat to Willie and his team as they try to ensure the course is suitable for play, a little common sense and 30 minutes could make a huge difference and allow all the team here at the club time to make a decision to suit everyone. 

You will notice with immediate effect that on days when the course is frosty or the mornings are exceptionally dark that there may be a course closed sign at holes one and nine, the reasons for this being implemented is very similar to what is listed above and will ensure Willie and his team have ample time to inspect the course to ensure it is safe and useable for play.
