This week saw the arrival of our first batch of spring/summer Galvin Green, As usual Galvin have supplied us with some terrific products in some fantastic pastel shades and we expect further drops as the season progresses. Pop in to the shop next time you are down Lundie and have a look for yourself.
Our Junior Clinic unfortunately never happened last weekend due to the lack of numbers. Could I ask all members with children under the age of twelve who may have an interest in golf to keep their eyes on the members notice board. We have rescheduled to try again on Sunday 8th June at twelve noon.
Why not get your kids names down and pop into the clubhouse and treat the wife to a lovely glass of wine while you wait!!!
Over the last couple of weeks we have been running the Brand Price Fit survey in our email and website. The results are in and I am delighted to say that Clark Thomson has been drawn out at random to win the dozen TaylorMade Project A balls that was on offer to one lucky entrant.
The results were reassuring with over 85% of you confirming that FIT was the most important criteria when buying golf equipment. This is great to hear as this is where we can provide the most qualified assistance in golf.
If you have not been fitted before and want to ensure the next purchase you make is tailored to your physique and game then please come into the shop and speak to us. We are here to help.
Willie and his team continue to make our course better each week. Having had the pleasure last week to squeeze a few holes in after work, with junior member Stewart Philp and our touring professional James White, I now feel I'm officially qualified to say the greens are absolutely superb!!
The brushes on the mowers have been out a few times over the last couple of weeks, allowing the leaf to be cut cleaner and sharper and with Willie being a stickler for presentation, he's also been out with the cutting lifter.
This machine allows the loose grass cuttings and seed heads to be hovered up generating a cleaner tidier playing surface whether it be fairway or rough (pictured here)!
The Wallace Thomson Memorial Trophy took place on Saturday and junior member Steven Paterson Jnr recorded a superb gross 81 playing off 15 to win the event.
After Steven the next three places could only be decided on countback with all three golfers coming in with nett 69's. But taking second place was Alan Thorburn, ahead of third placed Ron Landymore and fourth placed Ken Bissett. The Magic 2's paid £11.66 per two.
Supplementary Scoring Days are now in full swing every Monday, these rounds are not available for category one golfers but allow anyone who struggles to enter competitions either retain or generate a handicap. The only stipulation we have is that like the non courtesy medals the Pro Shop is required to be open for registration, these rounds are played from the yellow tees and have no sweep or magic two's, just book your tee time and find a playing partner/s.
