The course continues to go from strength to strength and the feedback over recent weeks, especially from visitors, has been unbelievable. Many have commented that the fantastic surfaces that Willie and his team create are far superior to most, if not all, of the courses they have played and some of them are over £200 per round.
Today (Tuesday) saw our team try out a new machine called a Poa Buster. Angled-like blades that generate a scythe-like action remove the seed heads from the surfaces, followed by a cut with our standard machine. Wow, what a surface it creates. You really are spoilt.
Saturday saw The Birkmyre Trophy take place and with five Lundie men in the top 20, it's safe to say we were well represented. An astonishing round of level-par from one of the entrants won the nett prize playing from a handicap of eight. A bogey at 18 from Grant McNab saw him lose out to Stephen Rogerson for the scratch prize after both shot scratch 69s. This week sees us back to normal with the June Medal and with the forecast looking good, I expect great results. Good luck.
Our juniors headed to Leven at the weekend where we were unfortunately beaten 3-1. A great effort by the boys nevertheless, but giving the shots they had to give made it very tough. Lots of the matches went to the 17th, so they did themselves proud. I think we might need to have a chat with the Junior Convenor about his team pairings.
As most of you should now be aware, we have had the online booking system (https://lundin.freetime-online.co.uk) available for almost two years now. If you haven't already registered please let us know and we'd be happy to help. Please also note that this service is not only for booking, but also for checking availability on tee-times. As the season is now in full swing, there are occasions where tee-times after 3:30pm are reserved for team matches and medals - it'll save you a wasted journey.
