Gilchrist Trophy
The only way to succeed in foursomes is to work well as a team. David Hunter and Jim Gay did exactly that by shooting an impressive nett 67.5 to win by two shots over Matthew Miller and Sam Nicholson. The top four in the Gilchrist go through to matchplay rounds, with the following pairs progressing:
David Hunter and Jim Gay
Matthew Miller and Sam Nicholson
Charlie Slaven and Euan Donaldson
David Smith and Bruce Reid
Good luck in the matchplay rounds.
Non-Courtesy and Claret Jug
Just a reminder to those that don't check their diaries, the Midweek Medals have started this week so if you would like to play in the non-courtesy event, grab a playing partner, come down on the day of the medal, pay sweep or twos money in the shop and then fire away. The Claret Jug is a drawn medal, first slot of peg times are lunchtime then late afternoon, you must enter through the computer system in the Golf Club or HowDidIDo. The draw is made on Monday night so be sure to enter beforehand, however if you forget there may be available slots for a late entry.
After last year's requests for some half-sleeved windtops, you will be delighted to know that we received a batch of club-crested ones yesterday (pictured below). Coming in two colours we have sizes ranging from small to XXL.
