Well what a week we've had! Three days with no golfers, dark mornings and darkness prevailing at 3pm. It's been a tough time for golf courses and businesses around the country and we really should count ourselves lucky that we've only had wind and rain so far!
Willie continues to progress through his winter programme and Monday saw a very light dressing of the greens. Getting dry windows for this particular process can sometimes be difficult so please bear with us over the next few months as on occasions the decision to spread can only be made on the morning of. Very little disruption as expected and again many thanks for your patience while the team prepare the course for the start of our season which is now only two months away.
The Eclectic ran as normal on Saturday and yet again young Stewart Philp had a terrific 42 points, closely followed by Scott Briggs on 38, to win the day. Joe Smith continues to improve his score and at the current standings sits two points clear of Stephen Rogerson. A few non-signed cards last weekend so please remember to squiggle your autograph if you want your score to count! You know who you are!
The Midlands Alliance will be here next Tuesday so the tee will be closed between 9am and 12pm so please be aware should you wish to make alternative plans. I will be attempting to play myself but with a severe lack of golf and other commitments between now and then, I'm not holding out a great deal of hope!
Fraser is away today (Tuesday) to Troon to play in a Winter Series he competes in so I'm sure we'll find out how he got on in due course.
Still plenty of bargains to be had and with the colder weather forecast for next week, we have numerous hand warmers, woolly hats and mits in stock to ensure you keep warm on the links.
